I have been trying my hand at jewelry making in the past year, but between finishing grad school and starting a busy new career, quick, easy projects are the name of the game. Hammered wire earrings are fun, relatively easy, and provide pretty instant gratification.
Jewelry making can be a bit of an investment up front, but you can make so many earrings that it’s easy to justify. I bought myself a little metal block and a jewelry hammer, but those were the only special materials I needed besides silver and copper wire.
These kind of earrings are very satisfying to make, because you form a shape with wire (and pliers), hammer the heck out of it, and voila! Cool earrings.
Here is a video tutorial made by somebody else about how to hammer wire.
